WOMEN IN SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING

Authors are invited to submit abstracts for presentation at the conference and inclusion in the conference proceedings. Papers of interest should deal with innovative ideas and programs, scientific studies, and formulation of concepts related to the education, recruitment, and retention of women in science and engineering.

Subjects for papers submitted can include:

Empirical studies of current qualitative or quantitative research;
Historical investigations of how gender difference impacts science and
engineering;
Original theoretical or conceptual analyses of science from gender-specific and ethnic perspectives;
Reviews of literature to help develop new ideas and directions for future
research;
Explorations of more effective methodologies for teaching and learning involving women in science and engineering;
Cultural phenomena that affect the classroom climate.

IMPORTANT DATES:

January 15, 2004: Abstract due (submit through website indicated below, with e-mail to Session Co-Chair. Be sure to begin the text of your abstract with the title of this session)

February 10, 2004: Notice of preliminary acceptance

March 15, 2004: Paper submission deadline

March 15, 2004: Early registration deadline (required for final acceptance of papers)

March 15, 2004: Deadline for authors’ registration to ensure publishing of submitted papers

April 15, 2004: Notice of final acceptance based on peer review (Registration fees will be refunded if papers are not accepted)
