| In our workshop,
we will present guidelines for developing and implementing an effective
assessment plan. Dr. Marcius F. Giorgetti will introduce the workshop
and present an overview of assessment/evaluation in Brazil. He will
discuss the present status of procedures being used by two separate agencies
in the Ministry of Education. These procedures are intended to be
complementary, but they are still being fine-tuned.
Following this
introduction, Drs. Olds and Miller will present a matrix designed at the
Colorado School of Mines to help engineering faculty develop assessment/evaluation
plans for their engineering programs. Use of the matrix assures that
each of the key steps in an effective assessment plan is addressed.
After a brief overview of the matrix, the workshop will focus on “hands
on” activities designed to provide participants with the tools they will
need to build an effective and efficient assessment process. |
