Call for Papers: ICEE-2002

Dear Colleague,

The website of ICEE-2002 is now accepting the electronic submission of abstracts. The due date is JANUARY 18, 2002.

We join Prof. John Garside, Principal and Vice Chancellor of UMIST, members of the iNEER Board, the ICEE International Steering Committee, and the Local Organizing Committee for ICEE-2002, to extend a special invitation for you to make a contribution, and join us at UMIST during August 18-22, 2002.

A broad range of topics covering the conference theme of ”Partnership, Policy, Practice” is solicited. For details, visit: http://induce.cc.umist.ac.uk/icee2002/.

The conference emphasizes international collaboration; hence papers that highlight this will be especially welcome.

To submit an abstract, click on ”THEMES AND ABSTRACT SUBMISSION”. Then click on ”General Call for Papers” if your topic falls outside of the 15 topics listed under ”Special Call for Papers”; otherwise, click on the latter and then on the topic of interest to you. The website is being updated at this time; if the specific Call of interest to you is not yet listed, please wait a day or two, or else submit your abstract under one of the other Special Calls. Be sure to begin the first sentence of your abstract with the title of the session for which intended, and send a copy to the organizers for your session, whose names and e-mail addresses appear on the iNEER website (see below). I (WA) would also appreciate receiving a copy of your abstracts via e-mail.

Among the topics being highlighted at ICEE-2002 are information technology, nanotechnology, distance education, and computer science and engineering education.

Papers accepted for the conference will be considered for publication in a special issue of the International Journal of Engineering Education, as well as several archival journals published by UMIST.

The following list provides the session titles and last names of session organizers for the topics targeted under ”Special Call for Papers”. Announcements for 2 planned panel discussion sessions are also listed for information. While the ICEE-2002 website listed above is being updated, you may see each individual Special Call for Papers by visiting http://www.ineer.org. On the left navigation menu, click on ”ICEE-2002”. The following list will appear. Click on the Call of interest to view it.

The text of this message is also attached as an MS Word file to enable easy forwarding. We ask for your help in forwarding it to colleagues who may be interested.

Sincerely,

Peter Hicks, Dean
