CALL FOR PAPERS

REQUIREMENTS FOR ROBOTS IN EDUCATION AND RESEARCH

The popularity of robots in educational scenarios is constantly rising. They are valuable tools which can be used in many different disciplines as demonstrators, in lab classes and as platforms for PhD research. Recently, the topic of educational robotics has been introduced at conferences and examples and applications have been reported.  To provide suitable platforms for teaching and research, roboticists need to know the requirements of educators for their specific needs. At universities these can be quite different to commercial applications with focus, for example, on flexibility, modularity, ease of use, and financial constraints.

For this session, we would like to invite papers which focus on:

·    Examining the requirements of robots in different educational scenarios

·    Reporting successful implementations that work well

·    Giving directions on how to design appropriate platforms

·    Application of robots in various subjects

or related topics.
