The conference hotel
Radisson SAS Scandinavia Hotel is located centrally in Oslo within short walking distances (5-15 min) from the Oslofjord,
the Royal Palace, the main street and centers for public transportation.

Airport shuttle service
The shuttle bus from Gardermoen Airport (OSL) leaves frequently and stops outside the hotel main entrance. Travel time is about 45 minutes.
In addition, there are Airport Express Trains and ordinary trains leaving from the integrated railway station below the
Arrival Hall. These trains will take you downtown in 20-25 minutes.

Part 2 & Technical Tour: Fee: NOK 3.500, including Bergen hotel with breakfast buffet NOK 945/1.280 (single/2 persons, double room). This package includes
Bergen and Flåm rail tour, cruise on the Sognefjord, the spectacular Lærdal road tunnel (24.5 km), bus to
Stalheim Hotel & Museum - Voss (dinner) - Bergen, one night with breakfast in Bergen, visits to
"post oil/gas Norway" activities like oceanic fish-/oyster hatchery and a Hi-Tech Research Center for
aquaculture and IT. Due to different travel needs of different participants, the Technical Tour ends in Bergen. Please consult your travel agency about what to do after Bergen,
f.inst. returning home from Bergen (BGO) international airport, go Eurail, Scanrail, tour the fjord districts, take coastal line north past North Cape etc.

At the moment, 1 USD equals about 9.3 NOK. More details (addresses etc.) will follow later. In addition, lower cost student apartment housing may be provided.
Climate: August may offer everything between a fairly warm and dry (20-25 centigrades/mid-70's degree Fahrenheit) "Indian Summer" and chilly rain (10-15 C equiv. 50-60 F). Thus, it is wise to bring some warm clothes, especially for evenings and fjordcruises.
A "Nobel Prized" Reception & a Banquet Interfacing Frontiers in Exploration and Education
The Monday night Reception will take place in Oslo City Hall, the venue of the
Nobel Peace Prize ceremony.
Restaurant Najaden at the waterfront of Bygdø peninsula is the venue of the Banquet.
In the very same area "the heart of Norwegian spirit and soul" is on display, namely
