Dear Colleagues:

In accordance with the request from Rector Wojciech Zielinski and Professor Jerzy Moscinski of the Silesian University of Technology (SUT), Gliwice, Poland, we are pleased to forward a special invitation for you to join members of the iNEER community at ICEE-2005 during July 25-29, 2005. Please also encourage your colleagues to attend this event, the primary purpose of which being to forge international cooperation in education and research in engineering and related fields.

Since 1994 we have been meeting annually in USA (2 times), Czech Republic (2), Brazil (1), Norway (1), UK (1), Spain (1), and Taiwan where we will be meeting during March 1-5, 2005 for the third time in 11 years. This will be the first time ever that we will meet in the Central European nation of Poland, a country that has produced Nobel Laureates such as Maria Sklodowska-Curie (Physics, 1903; Chemistry, 1911), Albert Abraham Michelson (Physics, 1907), Walter Hermann Nernst (Physics, 1922), Shmuel Yosef Agnon (Literature, 1966), Lech Walesa (Peace, 1983), and Gunter Blobel (Medicine, 1999), to name a few. In the future we plan to meet in Hungary, Puerto Rico, Canada, Australia and Portugal.

SUT, led by Rector Zielinski, is at the forefront of the reform movement in science and engineering education in Poland. During ICEE-2005, he and his colleagues would like to welcome you, to learn about you work, experiences and your ideas, and to share with you the experiences of their colleagues from the many excellent academic institutions from all over Poland. They will also show you the many interesting historical and cultrual sites in the Silesian region of Poland. Nearby are Czech Republic and Ukraine, each a short drive away.

We urge you to respond affirmatively to this unique opportunity and accept their invitation. The deadline is: March 15, 2005.
