The objective of this call is to bring together educators sharing their experiences and ideas concerning multi-disciplinary design projects in the context of undergraduate engineering education. Multi-disciplinary design projects in the undergraduate engineering education are recognized as an effective means for students to synthesize what they have learned, to stimulate their creativities, and to experience through the process of problem solving. Topics of interest include, but not limited to:

  • Development processes of the design projects;
  • Aspects of integrating the projects into an undergraduate curriculum or extracurricular activities;
  • The impact of the projects on student learning outcome and career development;
  • Aspects of university-industry cooperation or international cooperation in the design projects;
  • Roles of team work, system integration, and multi-disciplinary learning in the design projects.
